- The record: 64 distributions from October 3, 2024 to September 24, 2026. It paid monthly for the first 15, then switched to weekly in October 2025.
- Trailing twelve months: $8.389 per share across 51 payments, against $8.651 across 13 in the twelve months before — down 3.0%. The totals compare; the individual checks do not, because one year is monthly and the other weekly.
- The unusual part: the share price went $15.30 to $15.50 over that year, up 1.3%. Of 52 YieldMax funds with a full year of price history, only six finished higher — and this is one of them.
- But most of it is capital coming back: return of capital has averaged 64.2% of each distribution across the 56 payments YieldMax discloses it for, ranging from 0% to 100%. The September 23 payment was 88.02% return of capital.
- Gross expense ratio 1.01%, per YieldMax. Inception was August 20, 2024, on NYSE Arca.
YieldMax quotes a 30.32% distribution rate as of September 23, 2026. That is the most recent weekly payment annualised, not a promise and not a return — the payment record above is what actually happened, and it is the thing worth reading instead.
Each bar is one distribution. The tall early bars are the monthly era and the dense later ones are weekly, so the drop in bar height around October 2025 is a change of schedule, not a cut.

"Next expected" is estimated from TSMY's recent payment rhythm — the fund announces exact dates shortly before each payout, and the data feed can lag a few days. You must own shares before the ex-dividend date to receive that payout; the cash typically arrives days later. See every fund's upcoming date on the live dividend calendar.
A real total-return estimate, assuming every payout was reinvested — including what happened to the share price. Before taxes and fees. Past performance does not predict the future.
The usual complaint about single-stock option-income funds is that the checks arrive while the share price quietly sinks, so the income is partly your own capital handed back. Across this family that complaint is well earned: of the 52 YieldMax funds with a full year of price history, 46 finished the year lower.
TSMY is one of the six that did not. Its share price went from $15.30 to $15.50 over the past year, up 1.3%, while it paid $8.389 per share. That is the combination the category is supposed to deliver and usually does not.
Two things stop that being a recommendation. The payouts still fell 3.0% year over year, so the income side softened even as the price held. And return of capital still averaged 64.2% of each distribution, which means a large share of what arrived was your own money coming back rather than income the fund earned — the September 23 payment was 88% return of capital. A flat price with heavy return of capital is a better outcome than a falling one, not a different kind of product.

When Is TSMY's Next Ex-Dividend Date?
TSMY pays weekly, per YieldMax's own fund page; it paid monthly until October 2025. The exact date of each payout is announced by the fund only shortly beforehand, so no site can promise the next date — but the live schedule box above shows the most recent ex-dividend date and the expected window for the next one, computed from TSMY's actual payment rhythm. Remember: you must own shares before the ex-dividend date to receive that payout.
TSMY is on this site because people were looking for it and finding nothing. It is not a new launch — YieldMax listed it in August 2024 and it has been paying since that October — we simply had not built the page.
The mechanics are the YieldMax standard: the fund takes a synthetic position in Taiwan Semiconductor, sells call options against it, and passes the premium through. Option premium tracks volatility, so the size of each check follows how much TSM is moving rather than any policy decision. The 3.0% decline in the annual total is that mechanism working, not a management choice.
Where TSMY separates from its siblings is the share price. Most of this family pays you while the capital behind the payments shrinks. TSMY's price is up 1.3% over the year the payments fell 3.0%, which puts it sixth of 52 YieldMax funds by one-year price change and inside the small group that finished higher at all. Whether that persists is a question only the next year answers, and we chart every payment it makes in the meantime.
