STRC Dividend — Quick Facts
  • What it is: Strategy's Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock. Dividends are cumulative, paid in cash, on a $100 stated amount per share.
  • The current rate: 12.00% a year per Strategy's STRC page, which works out to $0.50 per share on each of the two monthly record dates.
  • The record: 17 dividends with record dates from August 2025 through September 15, 2026, totaling $12.92 per share ($8.67 of it from 2026 record dates). Each is paid on the next record date, about two weeks later.
  • The rate is the lever: Strategy says it sets the rate with the intent of keeping STRC trading at or near $100. The implied rate in our record climbed from 10.00% on the September 2025 check to 12.00% today.
  • Twice a month since June 30, 2026: shareholders approved the change at the June 8 annual meeting. Each check is now half the old monthly amount, so the chart shows smaller, more frequent bars. That is a schedule change, not a cut.

STRC is a preferred stock, not a fund: every dividend depends on Strategy's ability and decision to pay it, and the company can change the variable rate. Perpetual means there is no maturity date that returns your $100. Strategy said it expected the July 15, 2026 dividend to be treated as non-taxable return of capital up to your cost basis; tax treatment can change year to year. Amounts in our record come from market data; Strategy's announcements are the authority on any single payment.

Every Dividend Payment, Over Time

Each bar below is one real STRC dividend, dated by its record date. Through June 15, 2026 you'll see one bar a month; after, two bars at half the size. Multiply the older bars by 12 or the newer ones by 24 and you get the annual rate Strategy had set at the time.

A Dividend That Moves So the Price Doesn't

A fixed-rate preferred sets the dividend and lets the price float. STRC does the reverse: the price is the target and the dividend is the tool. When STRC trades below its $100 stated amount, a higher rate makes it more attractive; when it trades above, the rate can come down. That's why the per-share amount in our record rose in small steps, $0.833 to $0.958 a month, before the switch to $0.50 twice a month at 12%.

The mechanism has limits you can see in the price history. STRC closed the week of July 6, 2026 at $87.48 even at a 12.00% rate, and Strategy bought back 288,930 shares from July 20 to 26 at an average of about $86.52. By the week of September 7 it closed at $98.64. A rising rate is also a signal worth reading both ways: it pays you more, and it says the market needed more to hold the price.

When Is STRC's Next Ex-Dividend Date?

STRC pays twice a month — record dates on the 15th and the last day of each month since June 30, 2026 (monthly before that). The exact date of each payout is announced by the fund only shortly beforehand, so no site can promise the next date — but the live schedule box above shows the most recent ex-dividend date and the expected window for the next one, computed from STRC's actual payment rhythm. Remember: you must own shares before the ex-dividend date to receive that payout.

From Monthly to Twice a Month

STRC paid on a monthly schedule from its first dividend in August 2025 through June 2026. At its June 8, 2026 annual meeting Strategy's shareholders approved moving to two record dates a month, the 15th and month-end, and the change took effect June 30. The last monthly check (record date June 15) was $0.958, or 11.50% a year; the first semi-monthly check (record date June 30, paid July 15) was $0.479, exactly half. From the July 15 record date on, the rate was 12.00%, or $0.50 per check. Anyone comparing single payments across that line will see a drop that isn't there. Compare the annual rate instead.

Reading the Rate Steps

Because every STRC dividend is the annual rate times $100 divided by the number of payments, the record doubles as a rate history. The September 2025 check implied 10.00%, and the rate then rose a quarter point at a time (10.25%, 10.50%, 10.75%, 11.00%, 11.25%) to 11.50% by March 2026, where it held for four months before moving to 12.00%. Every change so far has been upward, which fits a stock that spent most of the period trading at or a little below $100. On July 27, 2026 Strategy said management would recommend keeping the 12.00% rate until STRC shows sustained trading near $100, so the first cut, whenever it comes, is also Strategy's signal that it thinks the price can hold on its own.

What This Page Can and Can't Tell You

It shows what STRC has actually paid, when, and at what implied rate, straight from the payment record. It can't tell you what Strategy will set next, and it isn't a view on bitcoin or on Strategy's credit. If you're weighing STRC against a fund that pays from a portfolio, the compare tool overlays any two payment records, and the house money calculator answers whether a position is ahead once both the checks and the price are counted.
