- The 25x raise: NVIDIA announced on May 18, 2026 that it was lifting the quarterly cash dividend to $0.25 per share from $0.01. The first payment at the new rate went to holders of record on June 4, 2026 and was paid on June 26.
- The latest check: $0.25 per share, ex-dividend September 10, 2026 — the 56th dividend in our record, which starts on November 20, 2012.
- Trailing twelve months: $0.52 per share against $0.04 the year before. That is a +1200% year-over-year change, and it is smaller than the 25x headline because only two of the last four quarters paid the new rate.
- What it actually pays: at the September 21, 2026 close of $227.38 the trailing yield is 0.23%. $10,000 in NVDA produces about $1.91 a month, or roughly $5.72 per quarterly check.
- Every older figure is split-adjusted: NVIDIA split 4:1 on July 20, 2021 and 10:1 on June 10, 2024, so the $0.01 quarterly payments shown before 2024 have been restated to today's share count. The raise is real, not an artefact of those splits.
The percentage and the dollar amount tell opposite stories and both are accurate. A 25x raise on a rate of one cent is still a rate of twenty-five cents, and against a share price above $200 that is a 0.23% yield. A record-setting increase isn't the same as a meaningful payout: NVIDIA's dividend is a rounding error next to its share price movement, which is the plain way to read this page.
Each point below is one real NVDA dividend since November 2012. The chart is nearly flat for more than a decade and then steps up sharply in June 2026 — that single step is the 25x raise, and it is the only meaningful event in the entire record.

Each point is one payment; the line ends at the most recent payout. The table below totals them by year.

"Next expected" is estimated from NVDA's recent payment rhythm — the fund announces exact dates shortly before each payout, and the data feed can lag a few days. You must own shares before the ex-dividend date to receive that payout; the cash typically arrives days later. See every fund's upcoming date on the live dividend calendar.

NVDA's trailing-year dividend rose 1200%. Its per-check rate rose 25-fold. Both are true, and neither tells you what you would be paid. The answer is $1.91 a month on $10,000, because the base those percentages multiply was one cent a quarter. From 2019 through 2023 NVIDIA paid exactly $0.016 per share per year, every year, split-adjusted. Five identical years.
This is the cleanest example on the site of why we plot dollars per share rather than growth rates. A screener sorting by dividend growth would put NVDA at the very top of the market in 2026, ahead of every company that has raised steadily for decades. It would be sorting on a number that means almost nothing, because a one-cent base makes any increase look extraordinary. The share price rose 28.7% in the year to September 21, 2026, from $176.67 to $227.38 — a move of $50.71 per share, worth about fifty years of dividends at the current rate.

When Is NVDA's Next Ex-Dividend Date?
NVDA pays quarterly, and the quarterly rate jumped from $0.01 to $0.25 per share with the June 2026 payment. The exact date of each payout is announced by the fund only shortly beforehand, so no site can promise the next date — but the live schedule box above shows the most recent ex-dividend date and the expected window for the next one, computed from NVDA's actual payment rhythm. Remember: you must own shares before the ex-dividend date to receive that payout.
Eleven Years of the Same Check
NVIDIA has paid a dividend since November 2012, and for most of that time nothing happened. On a split-adjusted basis the company paid $0.016 per share in 2019, and the same $0.016 in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Five consecutive years at an identical annual figure. The 2024 total reached $0.034 and 2025 came in at $0.040. Then the June 2026 payment arrived at $0.25, and the 2026 total so far stands at $0.510 with one quarter still to come.
What a 0.23% Yield Is Good For
Very little, as income. The useful thing about NVDA's dividend is as a reference point: it shows what dividend growth looks like when it is measured as a percentage of a trivial base, which is exactly the trap that percentage-based screeners set. When you see a fund or a company advertising triple-digit payout growth, the first question is what the previous payment was. Our dividend calculator answers the question that actually matters by pricing your own amount into monthly dollars.
What to Watch From Here
Whether the December 2026 payment holds at $0.25, making 2027 the first full year at the new rate — roughly $1.00 per share annually, still under half a percent at today's price. Whether NVIDIA treats $0.25 as a new floor to grow from or as a symbolic level to leave alone, which the next few points on the chart above will reveal. The comparison tool overlays NVDA's record against any fund built for income, and the contrast is instructive.
